IRNA – A 4.4-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday morning jolted an area to the northeastern Iranian Province of Semnan, about 242 kilometers to the east of capital Tehran.
The tremor jolted an area near Shahmirzad, a region in the province's Mahdishahr district, neighboring the northern Province of Mazandaran at 6:10: a.m. local time, according to the Seismological Center affiliated to the University of Tehran.
The quake was registered at 35.94 degrees latitude and 53.39 degrees longitude at a depth of 8 km.
There was no immediate report on casualties or damage.
Also, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake on Sunday morning jolted Kalateh Khijan area to Shahrood district in Semnan Province.
