Iran dismisses France’s claim about involvement in Syria crisis

Tehran has dismissed the allegation by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius about Iran’s involvement in the crisis in Syria as an attempt to divert attention from France’s meddling in the Arab country. “The comments by Mr. Fabius are not true and aimed at covering up France’s all-out interference in Syria’s affairs, which has inflicted huge human and material losses on the Syrian people,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday.

 
Iran graphic designer wins at German WorldSkills logo contest
Iranian graphic designer Iraj Asadi has been selected as the winner of Best Designed Logo of the 42nd WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig, Germany. Asadi’s winning logo was used on the website of the competition. It is also slated to be considered as main symbol of all correspondence and programs of the 42nd WorldSkills Competition.

 
Voter turnout to deal blow to Iran enemy: Leader
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the US seeks to discourage voters in Iran but will receive a punch in the mouth from the Iranian nation. “They want to discourage people from [participating in] the election because a high turnout will cost them dearly. They are always making noise and always getting punched in the mouth by the nation and this time they will be punched in the again,” Ayatollah Khamenei.

 
Iran launches Gorgan-Incheh Borun railroad
Iran has officially inaugurated a railroad which connects the northern Iranian city of Gorgan to Incheh Borun town along the border with Turkmenistan. The Gorgan-Incheh Borun railroad came on stream in a ceremony attended by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Roads and Urban Development Minister Ali Nikzad in Golestan Province on Monday.

 
Iran reform candidate says state TV cuts broadcast
The spokesman for a pro-reform Iranian presidential candidate says state television cut off his campaign broadcast unexpectedly, citing technical problems. Mohammad Reza Aref is one of two pro-reform candidates cleared by the Islamic Republic’s constitutional watchdog, the Guardian Council, to run in June 14 elections.
