IRNA - Iran's courageous people will protect the Persian Gulf to death, Iran Majlis (Parliament) speaker Ali Larijani said in a message.
Larijani's message was issued to the 8th festival to mark Persian Gulf National Day.
The boundless borders of Iran are indication of power, Larijani said, adding that safeguarding and preserving borders are among the most important responsibilities of all people.
Undoubtedly, attempts made to create peace and security along the country’s borders show Iranians’ power.
Misrepresentation of the name of the Persian Gulf in the world Atlas, arose the anger and public outcry among social and cultural activists inside and outside the country against this non-scientific distortion, the message reads.

The Persian Gulf Day is a very important day for the Iranian people and it is celebrated annually on April 30. It has taken place every year since 2004, and is marked with various ceremonies in Iran, especially in the coastal cities of the Persian Gulf.
The Persian Gulf, in Western Asia, is an extension of the Indian Ocean located between Iran (Persia) and the Arabian Peninsula.
