Press TV- A commentator describes US President Donald Trump’s refusal to sign the previously-agreed final communiqué of a G7 summit a mere “show” typical of the American head of state, saying the move is a sign that the alliance of Western states is headed for “disintegration.”
Trump’s abrupt pullout of the communiqué issued at the end of the G7 summit Quebec shows widening rifts among leaders of the seven industrialized nations, Peter Koenig told Press TV on Monday.
What is actually happening between the US and its G7 allies is the rapid and increasing “disintegration of the West,” said the analyst, emphasizing, “It’s obvious that this group is not sustainable.”
Koenig further said it is not the first time the US president signs an agreement and then pulls out, adding that what happened in Quebec was just “the usual Trump show,” which is similar to his handling of the Iran nuclear deal, the North Korea issue and the tariff row with China and Washington’s own allies.
“How serious can that be? He just wants to make sure that he calls the shots and the world understands that Trump calls the shots,” he added.
