MNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman extended sympathies to Canada’s nation over recent heat wave-linked death tolls.
Bahram Ghasemi called for all states to give special attention to climate change and its results and to fulfil their commitments on facing this phenomenon.
Condemning US withdrawal from Paris Agreement, he added that it is necessary that big industrial countries stick to their environmental commitments.
Industrial states have a major share in producing greenhouse gases and hence in global warming and other phenomena like drought and sand and dust storms (SDS), he noted.
The death toll in a week-long eastern Canadian heat wave has reached 54, Daily Sun reported on Sunday.
