IRNA - Chairman of the State of Duma Vyacheslav Volodin announced on Sunday that Iran and Russia are to hold a high-level parliamentary commission meeting in Volgograd on Sep 5-6.
According to Russian media ‘RIA Novosti’, Volodin told reporters that the parliamentary commission meeting will be held in the framework of the meetings between Iranian and Russian parliamentary officials.
The agreement on holding the parliamentary commission meeting was achieved last year.
During Volodin’s trip to Iran 6 months ago, both sides discussed issues regarding members of the mentioned commission.
Earlier, Chairman of Duma referred to the importance of boosting economic relations between Tehran and Moscow.
Meanwhile during his trip to Russian last year, Head of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Economic Commission Mohammad Reza Pour Ebrahimi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the joint economic commission will be complementary to the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
