Tasnim – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said at a time that enemies are seeking to divide Muslims, Eid al-Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice) is a great opportunity for Muslims around the world to unite and “come together”.
“In trying times—and as some may try to divide us—the Muslim world comes together to celebrate Eid-al-Adha. Wishing fellow Muslims everywhere a very Happy Eid,” Zarif said in a message posted on his Twitter account late on Monday.
Eid al-Adha is an important festival on the Islamic calendar which marks the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
During the festivities, Muslims pay tribute to Prophet Abraham's submission to the divine order of sacrificing his son.
