IRNA – The committee of national security and foreign Policy of the Majlis (Iranian Parliament) is going to hold a session to inspect the incident that happened in Basra, said the committee's spokesman on Saturday.
'According to the laws, the government of Iraq has the duty to safeguard diplomatic places,' Ali Najafi-Khoshrudi told reporters.
'Baghdad should arrest and punish the attackers and those who ordered them as soon as possible.'
Najafi-Khoshru said that the event will be discussed in the committee.
On Friday night, a group of attackers entered the Iranian Consulate General and set fire to car tires and damaged the building and some property.
