US fr. SecState Kerry advises Trump to read his book

15 Sep 2018 - 12:40

IRNA – In reaction to US President Donald Trump's Twitter message regarding former Secretary of State John Kerry's meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Kerry invited Trump to mind his own legal problem rather than dealing with his meeting with Zarif.

'Mr. President, you should be more worried about Paul Manafort meeting with Robert Mueller than me meeting with Iran's FM,' wrote Kerry in his tweet.

Kerry also wrote that if Trump wants to learn something about 'the nuclear agreement that made the world safer', he should buy his new book 'Every Day Is Extra'.

US president had protested against Kerry's meeting with Zarif, writing Kerry had 'illegal meetings with the very hostile' Iran, which can only be detrimental to the American people.

Kerry 'told them to wait out the Trump Administration! Was he registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act? BAD!' wrote Trump.

'Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign manager, pleaded guilty Friday two felony conspiracy charges and is cooperating 'fully and truthfully' with Mueller and his team,' wrote USA Today on Friday.

USA Today added, 'Manafort has had extensive financial and professional ties with Russia and with Kremlin-backed politicians in the former Soviet Republics over more than a decade. He is intimately familiar with financial interactions between Russians and Americans, including perhaps Donald Trump.'

During a radio interview this week, Kerry said, since leaving office, he had had “three or four” meetings with Zarif and that their discussions included the nuclear deal.
He, of course, said the talks were appropriate, telling Fox News that “every secretary of state, former secretary of state continues to meet with foreign leaders, goes to security conferences, goes around the world.”

Kerry and Zarif were part of two-year negotiations that led to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCOPA) in the 2015. Violated repeatedly by the US, the accord, also called Iran Deal, was eventually undermined by Trump. Trump quit the deal on May 8.
