IRNA – Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah in a message condemned the terrorist attack in southwestern Iran which claimed the lives of more than 20 people and injured scores others.
According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), in his message to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani which was released on Saturday, Jaber Al Sabah extended condolences over the death of Iranian military forces and civilians.
He also wished recovery for those who were injured.
Meanwhile, the Crown Prince of Kuwait Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in separate messages condoled with victims of the deadly attack.
Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim, for his part, referred to the recent attack as terrorist act.
At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province.
“The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,' Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said.
The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
