IRNA – The Iranian and Venezuelan foreign ministers explored avenues for boosting bilateral ties and discussed major regional and international developments here Thursday.

The meeting took place between Mohammad Javad Zarif and his counterpart Jorge Arreaza on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.

Zarif arrived in New York on Sunday to the accompaniment of President Hassan Rouhani to attend the 73rd high-profile session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Earlier, Zarif held talks with foreign ministers of Group 4+1.

He also participated in the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit and held talks with the P4+1 foreign ministers.
