IRNA – Iranian Persepolis FC won Qatari al-Sadd FC to pave its way for advancing to AFC Champions League finals.
Persepolis defeated al-Sadd in the first leg of AFC Champions League semi-finals in Qatari rival’s home Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Duha, Qatar with a 1-0 lead and got even closer to the finals.
Ali Alipoor scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in 85.
This is while some ‘The Red Army’ players were played out of position due to deprivations and injuries.
The two teams will meet again in the second leg in Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on October 23.
The team with better aggregate results in first and second leg will advance to the tournament’s finals.
