IRNA – Iranian sports squad won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the first day of 2018 Asian Para Games.
Iranian club thrower Younes Seifipour won the gold medal in F32 class where Omani and Kuwaiti representatives ranked second and third, respectively.
Iranian athletes Behzad Azizi and Erfan Hosseini ended as first and second runner-ups respectively in javelin throw F12/13 class. The Uzbek representative won the gold medal.
In long jump, Zahra Bernaki won the bronze medal of T45/46/47 class.
Iranian recurve archer advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Mongolian and Cambodian representatives.
The Iranian outfit at the 2018 Para Asian Games comprises 209 sportsmen and sportswomen who compete in 18 sports fields.
A total of 2,880 athletes from 41 countries compete in 18 sports in the event in Jakarta on October 6th-13th.
