Iran to adhere to its nuke policy: diplomat

11 Jun 2013 - 13:00

MOSCOW, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Whoever becomes the next president, Iran is not going to change its nuclear policy, the Iranian ambassador to Moscow said Monday.
"There will be no changes in our nuclear policy, this is a national issue," Reza Sajjadi told reporters here.

"Iran will exercise all its rights in the frames of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty," the diplomat said.

Iran's presidential election is slated for Friday.

Tehran will allow international inspectors to enter its nuclear facilities after a protocol is signed, he said, adding Iran was not obliged to close its Fordo nuclear facility and stop its uranium enrichment.

The date for a new round of nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 group (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) has not been set, Sajjadi said.
