MNA – The 32nd edition of Islamic Unity Conference entitled ‘Quds, the Axis of Unity of the Ummah’, has released its final statement, with an emphasis on unity among Muslims and putting an end to regional conflicts.
The 32nd Islamic Unity Conference with the theme of ‘Quds, the Axis of Unity of the Ummah’ was held in Iranian capital Tehran on November 24-26, concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), dubbed as Islamic Unity Week.
Over 900 religious scholars and political figures from Iran and across the Islamic world participated at the three-day event, which opened with a speech delivered by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and continued with speeches by over 20 speakers.
Participants at the 32nd Islamic Unity Conference also met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on Sunday.
Following its closing ceremony on Monday night, the Conference released its final statement, in which participants highlighted the Palestinian cause as the main issue of the Islamic Ummah.
Participants also stressed the need for closer unity among Muslims, calling for efforts aimed at putting an end to internal and regional conflicts by relying on help from neighbors and regional allies instead of foreign forces.
The statement condemned US President Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’ agenda, as well as Washington’s relocation of its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds.
Participants also voiced their opposition to any form of normalization of relations with the Israeli regime in political, economic, cultural and sports fields.
The statement also called for an end to the brutal war against Yemen, and voiced support for a political solution to settle the crisis in the war-torn country.
Participants further condemned the US sanctions against Iran, calling on the international community to resist against these unjust pressures.
