IRNA – Iran hosted a large number of immigrants over the past two years and provided good services for them, Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stefan Scholz said on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a Conference themed ‘Research on Migration, Challenges and Solutions’, he added most of the immigrants in Iran are engaged in working fields.
Noting that Iran and Austria boast numerous commonalities on the issue of migration, he added, “We are also hosting immigrants and we can share each other’s experience.”
Some 30,000 Iranians are living in Austria, most of whom have entered the country as university students, he said, noting that in 2016, some 1,600 Iranian students were studying in the country.
The Conference on ‘Research on Migration, Challenges and Solutions’ attended by experts from Europe was held in University Isfahan with the aim of undertaking joint researches with the European universities and scientific centers.
