IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in a message disclosed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s new mockery of the UN Security Council.

“In latest mockery of #UNSC, @SecPompeo
—bragged abt violating Res 2231; outlined plans for more violations
—confirmed that US and allies rely on defunct Res 1929 provision on missiles
—turned an isolated US into 1st perm SC member to PUNISH other countries for COMPLYING w/ Res,” Zarif tweeted on Thursday.

Earlier Zarif urged all parties to be committed to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.

“Making a mockery of the UNSC won't obscure failure to fulfill obligations & to hold US to account over non-compliance.
Esp when even US admits that UNSCR2231 does NOT prohibit Iran's deterrent capabilities. Rather than undermining 2231, better to work towards its adherence by all,” he said earlier in a separate Twitter message.
