IRNA – The 4.6-magnitude earthquake which jolted the city of Vahdatieh, in this Persian Gulf province on Wednesday left no casualties or damages to properties, a local official said.
Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Wednesday, managing director of Bushehr crisis management office Qasem Qaedi said all rescue forces are on alert.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 11:27 hours local time (7:57 GMT) and at the depth of 12 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 29.39 degrees latitude and 51.33 degrees longitude.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
