IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message described his trip to Iraqi Kurdistan Region as fruitful and constructive.
'Delighted to be in Iraqi Kurdistan, a long-time, close partner of #Iran,' Zarif tweeted on Tuesday.
He added 'Constructive & fruitful meetings in Erbil with KDP Pres @masoud_barzani, KRG @PMBarzani & KRG SC Chancellor masrour_barzani & business community. Huge interest. Reiterated: Iran is a reliable friend of Kurds.'
After finishing his tour to Erbil, Zarif arrived in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday.
Zarif also paid tribute to the late president of Iraq Jalal Talebani and participated in Iran-Iraqi Kurdistan Region's business meeting.
On Wednesday, Iranian foreign Minister is scheduled to be in Karbala to attend the two countries' business meeting.
Zarif who arrived in Baghdad on January 13 has so far met some Iraqi officials, namely Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, President Barham Salih and Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq Mohamed al-Halbousi.
