IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi in a message on Saturday addressed to Brazilian government and people sympathized with victims of mine dam collapse which claimed the lives of scores of people.
In his message, Qasemi extended condolences with the bereaved families of the victims.
After a torrent of mud broke through the dam at the iron-ore mine close to the city of Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerias in Brazil, the official death toll is on the rise while some 200 people are now missing due to mudslide.
Rescuers worked overnight into Saturday searching for around 300 people missing after a dam collapse at a mine in southeast Brazil killed at least nine, but the local governor said 'odds are minimal' that they would be found alive.
