IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution believes that martyrs' “everlasting message” invites the society to keep away from fear and dejection.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks on February 25 in an address to officials in charge of holding commemoration ceremony for 6,500 martyrs of the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman.
Enemies’ aim in mounting soft war against Iran is to make the Iranian nation disappointed and dejected and to make great Iranian nation scared of entering the field [of battle], the Leader said as his remarks were presented to large groups of people gathered in Imam Ali (AS) Mosalla Mosque in Kerman on Thursday (February 28).
The Leader said that commemorating the martyrs and revering their jihad in the path of God is a way to encourage others to follow the glorious path of the martyrs.
When the martyrs and defenders of the country’s soil were well marked in the time of Sacred Defense during Iraqi imposed war against Iran in 1980-88, it aroused enthusiasm among others to be present in the field of defense, the Leader said.
He went on to say that the enemies, today, aim not to let commemoration of the martyrs in order to block the path of martyrdom and prevent the people in the society from moving towards path of jihad.
The Leader further said the secret behind strength of a nation is the presence of the courageous youth who are ready for defense and resistance [against difficulties] in different arenas, and a nation which has “this asset” will always be the winner and powerful, never getting humiliated.
He added that keeping the name of the martyrs alive will contribute to training such youth and creating such an asset.
Now, the message of martyrs is to enter the “field of battle” despite the enemies’ will, the Leader stressed.
At the end of his remarks, the Leader urged all, the youth in particular, to work hard and make more efforts to have a role in achieving successes like the past for the country.
