ISNA - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani stressed Iran will stay in Syria as long as the Arab country demands Tehran’s assistance to help Syrian government and nation.
“Iran is in Syria in order to assist the Arab country’s government and nation and will stay in the country as long as Syria wants. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s nonsense comments, measures and trips will not have any effect,” Shamkhani said on Sunday.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mr. Shamkhani addressed to Iran’s reaction to activities of terrorist groups in Pakistan and Iran’s expectation from Pakistani officials.
“The issue is still on the agenda and Islamabad government is committed to prevent the filtration of terrorists into Iran and without doubt, we will do our duty in preserving the security of Iranian people living near the common border of Iran and Pakistan,” he said.
