Iran, Turkey vow to strengthen border security

IRNA – Urmia Governor-General Alireza Molla Mohammadzadeh on Tuesday met with the governor of Hakkari province in Turkey on strengthening border securities.


In the meeting which was held in the absence of reporters, both sides underlined the need to further bolster border security, fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.

The two sides also signed a deal on maintaining border security between the two border provinces.

The signed protocol focused on fight against drug trafficking, fight against organized crimes and illegal immigration.

Iran and Turkey have 566 kilometers of common borders.
