SHANA – The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has ordered the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) to build the second phase of Ilam Gas Refinery, west Iran.
According to NIGC, Shahryar Daripour, the CEO of the refinery, said the second phase development of the plant would increase its production capacity by 50 percent.
Furthermore, the plant’s feedstock intake would increase from currently 6.8 mcm to 10.2 mcm.
The refinery is a supplier of gas condensate, sulfur, ethane, and crude liquid gas, of which gas condensate, ethane and crude liquid gas are consumed as feedstock by Ilam Petrochemical Plant.
Last year, the refinery supplied 1.5 billion cubic meters of refined gas to the national gas trunkline which was consumed in the household and industrial sectors.
Moreover, the plant produced 60,000 tons of sulfur and exported half of it for $3 million last calendar year which ended on March 20.
