FNA - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi offered his country’s congratulations to the people and government of Bolivia for having a successful presidential election, felicitating President Evo Morales for winning the contest.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mousavi congratulated the Bolivian government and nation on the holding of recent democratic and inclusive presidential elections in their country and the re-election of President Morales and wished them prosperity and well-being.
General elections were held in Bolivia on 20 October 2019. Voters elected all 130 members of the Chamber of Deputies and 36 senators and cast ballots for a joint slate of president and vice president. President Morales was set to win the presidential election, according to electoral authorities on Monday.
Morales has won his previous three terms with solid majorities. The South American country has been experiencing years of political and economic stability and growth under his rule. The economy has grown by an annual average of about 4.5 percent, well above the regional average, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts it will grow at four percent this year.
