President.ir – President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was on a trip to Japan at the official invitation of the Japanese Prime Minister, left Tokyo minutes ago, heading for Tehran.
During the visit, President Hassan Rouhani and Prime Minister Abe Shinzo had a meeting and discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of interest.
Dr Rouhani also had a meeting with senior Japanese economic figures and elites a few hours before leaving Tokyo.
Referring to the good relations between the two countries and the determination by the two governments to deepen ties, he said, "I emphasise that Iran’s doors are always open to Japanese companies and these companies can have active presence in important projects like those in Chabahar”.
He also expressed hope that the visit would further cement ties between the two countries in scientific, cultural, political and economic fields.
“It is very important for us that Iran and Japan continue their relations as two long-standing friends and do not let third-party countries disrupt these relations,” said Rouhani.
At the end of this visit, Dr Rouhani signed the painting called “Tree of Friendship” as the symbol of the 90th anniversary of establishment of Iran-Japan political relations.
