SHANA – A senior Iranian official in petroleum refining affairs said converting petro guzzlers into CNG-run vehicles could generate 1.8 billion dollars in revenues for Iran annually.
Addressing a conference on CNG industry in Tehran on Sunday, Alireza Sadiqabadi, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said energy intensity in Iran in all sectors including energy consumer, transportation, power generation, major industries, households and commercial sectors is too high which needs to be modified.
Sadiqabadi, who is also deputy petroleum minister for refining affairs, said the average daily consumption of gas and liquid fuels currently used for heating is 750 to 800 million cubic meters per day in Iran, which is a very high figure.
