According to a new report by the Central Bank of Iran, 724,255 loans worth 390.94 trillion rials ($3 billion) were given out to different housing subsectors, including for home purchase, construction and repair, during the eight months to Nov. 21.
Iranian banks and financial institutions gave out a total of 6,288,511 loans, of which 11.5% were granted to the housing sector.
Home loans worth 134.36 trillion rials ($1.03 billion) accounted for 34.4% of the total number of housing loans granted to applicants during the eight months.
Construction loans worth 60.27 trillion rials ($463.61 million) made up 15.4% of the housing loans, Hibna reported.
They were followed by repair loans worth 79.5 trillion rials ($611.53 million), constituting 20.3% of all housing loans.
