The Iranian nation’s resistance and the administration’s efforts have defeated the pressures as signs of success in economy and the health sector are obvious, President Hassan Rouhani said.
The Iranian president and his cabinet members on Monday attended a ceremony at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini south of Tehran to pay tribute to the late founder of the Islamic Republic and renew allegiance to his goals.
In comments at the ceremony, Rouhani said the people’s resistance and his administration’s plans have yielded results in the economic sector and in ensuring public health despite all problems and economic pressures.
“Today, the economic indicators and the signs of society’s health in the face of the virus (COVID-19) illustrate that our nation has been successful,” he added.
In comments last week, Rouhani highlighted the defeat of the economic war that the previous US administration had launched on Tehran, saying the Islamic Republic’s economic interactions were entering a new phase with the improvement of exports.
The Central Bank of Iran has assured that Tehran would never return to previous conditions because of the tools designed to handle the situation and the monetary policies to eliminate the budget deficit.
