Iranian Parliament to ban entry of US, UK reporters supporting sanctions against country

19 Apr 2021 - 16:34

A member of the Iranian Parliament’s presiding board says it has received a motion by lawmakers to ban the entry of American and British journalists and media outlets known for supporting sanctions against Iran.

Seyyed Naser Mousavi-Largani announced the news during an open session of parliament on Sunday.

Mousavi-Largani did not provide any further details.

The United States, under former US President Donald Trump, imposed several rounds of illegal sanctions on Iran, primarily targeting the Iranian nation. Trump unilaterally pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal in 2018.

Iranian officials have called the sanctions “economic terrorism” for disrupting the people’s livelihood and “medical terrorism” for hindering people’s access to certain medicines and healthcare services, particularly during the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease.
