Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian who is in New York to take part in the UNGA had meetings with his counterparts from Turkey and Namibia.
Amirabdollahian met on Wednesday with Turkeys Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The two sides discussed bilateral and regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan and Syria.
They agreed to hold a meeting on foreign ministers level to set the agenda for another leaders level meeting in the framework of Iran-Turkey Joint Commission.
The two also agreed to hold the trilateral meeting between Azerbaijan Republic, Iran and Turkey in Tehran.
Amirabdollahian said that President Ebrahim Raisi has appointed his first vice president as the chair of the commission which signified a serious improvement.
He also submitted Raisis invitation for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an to the foreign minister.
Turkish Foreign Minister said that his country would follow suit regarding the appointment in joint commission and criticized unilateral, illegal sanctions imposed on Iran and urged lifting them.
