The oil minister of Iran urged that international decisions about the energy market must be made without the influence of political intentions.
Addressing a ministerial meeting of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Bolivia via video conference on Tuesday, Javad Owji said the US sanctions on Iran continue to affect the global supply of energy.
The Iranian oil minister noted that soaring gas prices in Europe and elsewhere in the world are partly a result of politicized way of dealing with major energy suppliers, including Iran, in recent years.
“In order to overcome challenges of the world energy security; rather than adopting political approaches and imposing unilateral sanctions, a substantial strategy is required to restore economic logic and multilateralism,” he added.
