Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili said during a meeting with Italian ambassador in Tehran on Wednesday that the two nations have had long-standing relations and should expand cultural cooperation.
Esmaili stressed expansion of cultural communication between Iran and Italy and expressed Tehran’s readiness for cooperation with Rome in this regard.
He said that Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance was ready to sign cultural cooperation MoUs with Italy saying that exchange of artists would introduce Iranian and Italian civilizations to the people of both countries.
The culture minister offered celebrating cultural days and weeks in Iran and Italy, noting that Tehran would welcome Italy’s hosting of Expo 2030.
Italy’s Ambassador to Iran Giuseppe Perrone echoed Esmaili’s views on the necessity of expansion of cultural ties between Iran and Italy.
He thanked for the collaboration and support offered by Iranian cultural entities, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in particular.
