Iran marked the National Nuclear Technology Day on Saturday by displaying nine new achievements of the country’s nuclear scientists, while the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran unveiled three strategic plans.
In a ceremony held in Tehran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi visited an exhibition of the nuclear industry, where nine new achievements and the major homegrown products developed in the previous years, including various generations of Iranian centrifuges, were put on display.
Lauding the young Iranian scientists for making significant progress in the nuclear industry, the president stressed the need to develop such morale in the other industries and strategic fields.
Iran upholds its irrevocable right to enjoy nuclear energy and technology for peaceful purposes, he added, stressing that the country’s right to research into peaceful nuclear activities would not be subject to the will or views of others.
During the event, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran unveiled three strategic plans, including arrangements to increase the country’s nuclear electricity production capacity to 10,000 megawatts, promote the application of radiation technologies, and construct a homegrown 360,000-MW power plant in Darkhovin in Khuzestan province.
In recent years, Iranian scientists have made remarkable progress in the field of peaceful nuclear technology despite the sanctions imposed by the West.
It is the 16th year Iran is celebrating a national day to mark its achievements in the nuclear industry.
