Iran rejects claims about sending arms to Ukraine

11 Nov 2022 - 17:40

The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the use of Iranian-made arms in the Ukrainian war is a baseless claim.

In recent weeks, the American and European authorities claimed that Iran had sent drones to Russia for use in the war on Ukraine.

The Iranian officials have time and again repudiated the claim but the Western states still insist on their claim.

In a tweet on Friday, the Iranian MFA Spokesman Nasser Kan'ani said that such a claim trumpeted by the Westerners every day was a baseless accusation against Iran to represent legitimate their arms exports to Ukraine.

Kan'ani stressed: "The anti-Iran [human rights] advocates are both the cause of the war and the cause of its continuation; Iran is against war and supporter of ceasefire and peace." The Western countries pour billions of dollars of weapons into Ukraine. The US recently announced that it would send another $ 400 million in military equipment cargo to Ukraine.

Earlier, English media Sky News, following the recent anti-Iranian claims of the West regarding the war in Ukraine, claimed in an exclusive report that Iran had received seized American and British weapons as well as cash in exchange for providing deadly drones to Russia for use against Ukraine.

Following the baseless allegations against Tehran, the NATO Secretary General once again, referring to the alleged Sky News report, emphasized that he cannot confirm whether this issue exists or not.
