Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that the Iranian government has a policy to develop trade and economic relations with African states.
Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a Monday meeting in Tehran on Monday with Minister of Industry and Trade of Burkina Faso Serge Puda.
During the meeting, Amirabdollahian and Puda discussed issues of mutual interest
The Iranian diplomat also stressed taking advantage of opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation between Iran and Burkina Faso.
Meanwhile, Puda lauded Iran’s progress in spite of foreign sanctions imposed on the country.
He also termed the visit by a Burkinabe private sector delegation to the 5th Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRAN EXPO2023) as a good chance to become acquainted with Iran’s economic potentials.
IRNA EXPO 2023 started in Tehran on May 7 and will last for four days.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani condemned the terrorist attack on the humanitarian aid convoy in the north of Burkina Faso, which killed and injured dozens of people.
Kan’ani also expressed his sympathy with the government and people of Burkina Faso and the survivors of this terrorist attack.
At least 35 civilians were killed and 37 wounded when a convoy carrying supplies in Burkina Faso struck an improvised explosive device, the governor of the Sahel region told media.
