The Iran Project - Senior nuclear officials from Iran and China discussed plans for closer cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the construction of atomic power plants.
The meeting has taken place on the sidelines of the first day of the International Atomic Energy Agency conference, held in Vienna on Monday.
During the meeting, Mohammad Eslami, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), and a deputy head of the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) discussed the progress of their cooperation and potential collaboration in various sectors of the nuclear industry.
They emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Iran and China in combating unilateralism.
The IAEA General Conference, which is taking place from September 25 to 29, will address a range of issues and involve high-ranking officials and representatives from IAEA member states.
Meanwhile, during a meeting on Monday with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, in Vienna, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief criticized Western countries for increasing political pressure on Iran, stating that such actions will not go unanswered.
Slamming the biased approach taken to Iran by Western countries, the Iranian nuclear chief said, “By resorting to sanctions … these countries are trying to use the IAEA’s mechanisms to mount pressure on Iran.”
