Kazakhstan has welcomed cooperation with Iran's National Standard Organization in the field of Halal, deciding to ink a memorandum of cooperation in this field in the near future, the head of the International and Halal office announced.
According to the Iran Project Hassan Khanezar made the announcement on the sidelines of the 19th Joint Commission on Economic, Commercial and Cultural Cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan in Tehran.
The Iranian official went on to explain the halal structure in Iran, which was welcomed by the Kazakh side for cooperation in this area.
Given the membership of the National Standard Organization of Iran in SMIK and the Association of Halal Certifiers (AHAC), the organization announced its readiness to start cooperation.
It was also decided that the Halal cooperation memorandum to be signed between the two sides in the near future.
Back in July, the group of Developing Eight (D8) Islamic countries has met in Pakistan’s mountain resort city of Murree to discuss strengthening halal tourism cooperation among the member states.
The D8 group is an economic organization for developing cooperation among member states, namely Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Nigeria.
Established in 1997, it represents about 1 billion people, or 14 percent of the world’s population.
Muslim countries are scattered in Asia and Africa and have their own characteristics, with significant natural wealth and historical sites and pristine nature which can be a source of significant income for them.
