Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has discussed the Gaza war with his South African counterpart, saying that efforts by the two countries to help bring an end to the war and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians are of paramount importance.
According to The Iran Project,Amirabdollahian and Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor spoke on the phone on Wednesday night, discussing Gaza and other issues of mutual interest.
The Iranian diplomat hailed South Africa over its firm stance on Gaza.
Pandor said on her part that the South African people are approving of their government’s support for Gaza and ending Israeli crimes.
In this regard, she added, the South African government has handed over an official request to the International Court of Justice to investigate the crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
Amirabdollahian spoke with his South African counterpart hours after he returned from Qatar where he held talks with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh on the Gaza war.
