The Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade announced the unveiling of eight domestic electric cars in next year.

According to The Iran Project, Abbas Aliabadi made the announcement Tuesday morning at the unveiling ceremony of electric taxis.

Nowadays, electrification is of great importance and the scientific history of car electrification has existed in Iran since 30 years ago, he said.

The minister stated that Mapna Group has been following this work professionally for 10 years.

Today, not only the knowledge of car electrification exist in the country, but it has also been institutionalized, he remarked.

We are going to unveil eight domestically produced electric cars next year, he reiterated.

Noting that Iran is among the first few countries in the world in this field, he said, “We are not just users, rather, the knowledge of electrification of cars has existed in our country for many years, but electrification does not even exist in among the programs of many countries in the world.”

We are among the rarest countries that enjoy this technology, he added.

It is worth mentioning that a month ago (November 28th), with the presence of the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, the mass production line of the first all-electric bus was inaugurated.

Iran Khodro Diesel’s electric bus named E-Atros was unveiled on March 13.

Afterward, the mass production of that bus with an annual production capacity of 4,000 vehicles began at Iran Khodro Diesel on November 28.

Operating on batteries and without the use of an overhead Catenary System, this fully electric vehicle is based on the platform and chassis of Iran Khodro Diesel’s E-Atros diesel-powered bus, but with a new design.
