The deputy of transport and traffic of Tehran Municipality says the Ministry of Industry has assigned 9 automobile manufacturers to provide 40,000 electric taxis.
According to The Iran Project, Mohsen Hormozi made the remarks at the meeting of Tehran's city council on Monday.
These taxis are imported with a one percent tariff and the car companies are obliged to unveil these cars in Tehran, he stated.
Elaborating on the municipality's budget resolution, he said more than 700 billion tomans have been paid to the metro company.
Some part of the purchases were made by the investor company and some others by the wagon maker company, he added.
He reiterated that the Ministry of Industry has assigned 9 automobile manufacturers to provide 40,000 electric taxis. These taxis are imported with a one percent tariff and the companies are obliged to unveil these cars in Tehran.
Concerns about overhaul are true, and in this regard, measures have been taken to modernize the transportation fleet, the official concluded.
