Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Moscow, met and talked with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov about BRICS cooperation.
According to The Iran Project,In this meeting, the necessity of cooperation between the two countries was emphasized to strengthen the BRICS group, develop multilateralism, and confront the unilateral coercive actions of some countries that have endangered the peace and security of the international community.
In this meeting, Jalali considered the development of cooperation with BRICS as one of Iran's foreign policy strategies and stated that Iran will seriously participate in the planned BRICS programs.
He also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate with regional and international organizations to create a just world with peace and tranquility.
Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ryabkov also described the cooperation of the two countries in regional and international organizations as fruitful, and referring to his country's chairmanship of the BRICS group, he emphasized Iran's effective role in this group and expressed hope that this group would consider Tehran's views in Use in all areas.
Next week's meeting in Moscow will be the first meeting of the representatives of the member countries of the group of emerging economies known as BRICS with the presence of five new members.
This year (2024), Russia is the rotating chairman of this group.
With its geopolitical and geostrategic position, rich energy resources, expert manpower, and progress in various scientific fields, especially new technologies, Iran is a capable partner for the BRICS family.
BRICS is trying to form a new world economic order independent of the US, and, considering the important members of this economic block, the realization of such a goal is not far from reach.
Countries like Russia and China with large economies and members with veto power in the United Nations Security Council, along with other BRICS members, can turn this regional alliance into an important actor in the world arena.
In addition to great economic, industrial, and scientific capacities, Iran also has good political and economic cooperation with all five BRICS members, and this process can contribute to the effectiveness of BRICS.
Reducing dependence on the dollar in world trade is one of the important priorities of the BRICS economic bloc, and Iran also supports this process.
In the first step, BRICS seeks to reduce the dominance of the dollar on global exchanges, and in the second step, it is thinking about creating a common currency for trade cooperation between BRICS members and other countries.
