Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi reaffirmed Tehran's stance on the presence of outsiders in West Asia, and urged the United States to withdraw its forces from the region.

According to The Iran Project,The presence of American troops in West Asia has “no justification” and the regional issues should be resolved through regional countries, President Raisi said on Wednesday, addressing a ceremony marking the 45th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution with foreign diplomats in Tehran in attendance.

Tehran has repeatedly cautioned that any plan aimed at increasing US presence in the region will only foment insecurity and instability and spread terrorism, asking the neighboring countries to be extremely vigilant about any US plan that clearly aims to disturb the regional peace. Iran says the United States remains responsible for the insecurity and instability in the region as long as its wrong and crisis-making policies are not rectified.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underlined the necessity for the settlement of the crises and problems in the region through interactions among the regional states, and underscored that the presence of foreigners is harmful.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iran’s president lashed out at the US and its allies for their unwavering support for the Israeli regime, stressing they are obstructing democracy by preventing Palestinians from determining their future.

“You who talk of democracy must allow every Palestinian, whether Muslim, Christian, or Jewish, to have a vote. Everyone should have a vote,” he said, adding that the West and the US must not interfere in the future of Palestine and only the Palestinian nation must decide its future.

Raisi touched on the ongoing Israeli military onslaught against Gaza, stating it’s a real regret that the West is supporting the genocidal war and international organizations can’t stop the bloodshed.

“[Is there] a bigger regret than the support of the US and the West for these crimes? The greatest regret is that international organizations are not effective enough,” he continued.

The president further named Palestinians the ultimate winner and the Zionist regime the loser in the conflict.

US officials have in recent months stressed that Gaza cannot be run by Hamas once the continuing conflict is over. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had suggested that Tel Aviv would take control of security in Gaza after the war.

Iran has cautioned that the United States is masterminding plots for the post-war era in the besieged enclave, stressing that Washington is in no position to make any decisions for the Palestinian people in the besieged enclave.

Israel has been carrying out heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip since early October, killing more than 27,700 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women, and wounding over 67,000 others, and levelling entire neighbourhoods. Thousands more are missing and feared buried under the rubble. Tel Aviv has also imposed a "complete siege" on Gaza, cutting off food, electricity, fuel and water supplies. The move has plunged the blockaded territory into a humanitarian crisis.

The United States has been providing Israel with unconditional military and political support in its onslaught against Gaza, arming Tel Aviv with more than 10,000 tons of military hardware. The US has also torpedoed the prospect of cessation of the Israeli aggression by stonewalling ratification of all United Nations Security Council resolutions that have been calling for a permanent ceasefire in the Israeli assault.

Iranian officials say the United States is waging a war on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through Israel, and stress if Washington’s political and military aid to Zionists is cut off, the regime won’t be able to proceed its military campaign against the blockaded territory.
