Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has strongly condemned the US for vetoing a UN resolution demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip once again.
According to The Iran Project,Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with the organizers of the congress of 24,000 Khuzestan martyrs on Saturday morning.
“The Westerners, who make noise and uproar for the execution of a criminal, have turned a blind eye to the killing of 30,000 innocent people in Gaza, and the US has brazenly vetoed the resolution to stop bombing Gaza for the umpteenth time,” he said.
On Tuesday, the US again shielded the Israeli regime at the UN Security Council by vetoing a UN resolution, drafted by Algeria, which called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, where nearly 30,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the war on Gaza has exposed the true face of the western civilization and their hypocrisy on the issue of human rights.
“This is the true face of western culture and civilization and liberal democracy, whose politicians are ironed and smiling on the outside, but on the inside, it is a rabid dog and a bloodthirsty wolf,” he noted.
The Supreme Leader compared the western civilization to a “lopsided load that will not each home” and expressed confidence that “the culture of truth and the correct logic of Islam will overcome all of this".
Ayatollah Khamenei also alluded to deep-seated enmity of the West towards the Islamic Republic, which he said was rooted in their lack of understanding of the Iranian nation and Islam.
“The enemies of the Iranian nation, based on their estimates and designs, were sure that the Islamic Republic would not see its 40th anniversary,” he said.
Despite the West’s enmity, the Supreme Leader said Iran’s progress has never stopped and will continue based on “the will of the people and their religious faith".
