Attarian received the honor for his piece “Attached” and Ojaghi got it for “Hanami,” both in the category of world music.
According to Attarian, “Attached” is “a combination of musical elements of western and eastern schools, both in terms of melody and arrangement.
The piece made by Ojaghi, an 18-year-old artist who has been a student of Attarian for two years, is a sonata in traditional Iranian style.
Established in 2011, the Global Music Awards celebrates independent musicians. It is widely recognized by industry insiders as giving legitimacy to highly talented artists.
Each year, the Global Music Awards receives hundreds of entries from around the world. Although the headquarters is based in California, the U.S., the participants are judged in an international competition, not just an American competition.
The competition will make it easier for the winners to lock in bookings, be discovered by A&R executives, and be signed by labels.
