Iran FM off to Muscat to meet top Omani officials

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian left Tehran for Muscat on Sunday morning to hold talks with top Omani officials on various issues.


According to The Iran Project,Before his departure, Amirabdollahian was seen off by Omani Ambassador to Iran Ibrahim bin Ahmed Almuaini.

Senior staff members of the Iranian Foreign Ministry including Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman, Mehdi Shooshtari, the head of the bureau of West Asia and North Africa, Mohammad Ali Bek, the director general of the Persian Gulf Department and Mojtaba Bani Asadzadeh, the foreign ministers’ advisor, are accompanying Amirabdollahian during his Oman visit.

Also, the chairman of Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Vahid Jalalzadeh is a member of the foreign minister’s delegation.

The trade between Iran and Oman has reached $2 billion in the past year. The two countries’ trade interactions increased by 52% and 41% respectively in terms of weight and worth during the period.
