he Iranian Foreign Ministry vehemently condemned an Israeli strike on a school-turned-shelter for displaced Palestinians in Gaza City that has killed more than 100 people, including women and children.
According to The Iran Project, foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani denounced the “brutal attack” as a brazen example of simultaneous commitment of genocidal crimes, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
The Israeli regime’s unrelenting massacre of civilians in its maniacal military attacks on Gaza, specifically this morning’s strike on the al-Tabin school, reveal that the apartheid regime is not committed to any international law or the moral and humanitarian principles, he added.
Kanaani described decisive and resolute action by the Islamic and free nations in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate resistance against occupation and aggression as the sole way to counter the ruthless Israeli regime.
The strike on the al-Tabin school was a blatant and clear example of threat to international peace and security, the spokesman said, calling on the UN Security Council to act immediately and effectively in accordance with the UN Charter’s Article 7 to rein in and stop the child-killing Israeli regime’s unending crimes.
The world countries and the international organizations, particularly the UN Security Council members and the International Criminal Court are once again faced with a moral and humanitarian test and an international responsibility, Kanaani stated, stressing that those ordering and perpetrating genocide and apartheid, namely the Israeli officials, must be held accountable for their criminal acts and barbarism.
Hamas said in a statement that the “massacre at al-Tabin school in the Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City is a horrific crime that constitutes a dangerous escalation.”
Hamas noted that Israel’s claims of the school being used as the group’s command center are “excuses to target civilians, schools, hospitals, and refugee tents, all of which are false pretexts and exposed lies to justify its crimes”.
At least 39,699 Palestinian people have been killed and 91,722 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
