Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has called for a united front against the plots of the global hegemonic powers.
In a Saturday meeting with Cuban First Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas in Tehran, Larijani said that the hegemonic powers have been caught up in the same crises they created themselves and noted that unity and cooperation among the world’s sovereign nations foil the enemies’ plots.
Cabrisas has travelled to Iran to participate at the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new President Hassan Rohani, slated to be held later on Sunday.
Larijani underscored the need for the enhancement of Iran-Cuba ties, adding, “The relations between the two countries are at an exceptional level and all the potentials should be utilized to promote the mutual friendly ties.”
The Majlis speaker pointed to the common views of Tehran and Havana on different global issues and called for constant consultations between the two countries against the hegemonic policies of world powers.
Cabrisas, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations and called for joint efforts to consolidate the existing ties.
The Cuban vice president also called on the two countries’ parliaments to take greater steps to further expand the amicable ties between Tehran and Havana.
