Moscow, Aug 20, IRNA – A group of Russian Iranologists and cultural figures on Monday called for using the existing capacities to develop cultural ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Head of Iran study section in Russia Orientology Institute Ms. Nina Mamadova voiced eagerness of the Russian nation, elites in particular, to develop cultural and social cooperation with Iran.
She appreciated efforts of the outgoing Iran’s cultural attaché to Moscow, Abuzar Ebrahimi, for promotion of Persian language in Russia.
Head of Persian Language Department in Moscow State University Professor Vladimir Ivanov also expressed satisfaction with promotion of Persian language and Iranian culture in his country.
Sergei Dimitriov, president of Russia Veche Publication, said that he has published more than 10 volumes of Iranian books in Russian language.
Dimitriov, who has visited Iran three times, referred to Iran as the civilization center of the West Asia region and added that Iran and Russia share many cultural commonalties. He called for further expansion of Tehran-Moscow cooperation.
Head of Russian political and strategic research institute Vladimir Sakharov also praised efforts leading to promotion of Persian language in Russia.
Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Reza Sajjadi appreciated constructive efforts made to boost all-out ties between the two friendly countries in the past years.
Ebrahimi, for his part, underlined the need for making greater moves to further boost bilateral cooperation and promote Persian language and culture in Russia.
The scholars made the statements in the farewell ceremony of Ebrahimi.
