TOKYO, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe' s special envoy Masahiko Komura, vice president of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, will visit Iran and hold talks with President Hassan Rouhani this weekend on Syria conflicts, reported local media.
Komura, a former Japanese foreign minister, is also expected to discuss bilateral relations and other international issue during his two-day visit, Japan's Kyodo News quoted officials as saying.
Komura said that he will tell Iran that it should play a role in stabilizing Syria conflicts as the country is a principal supporter of the Syrian government, Kyodo said.
The envoy will leave for Iran on Friday and return back on Monday, said Japan's Foreign Ministry.
